June 14th

I always book appointments with my hairdresser weeks in advance because he’s so popular and it’s almost impossible to get an appointment on short notice. Last time I was there I booked June 14 @ 11am. Of course when I called the hopsital to book Mom’s 3 week follow-up with her surgeon the only date and time available was, yes, you guessed it… June 14th @ 1pm. Early this morning I called my hairdresser and was able to reschedule for June 7th. Great, cool, problem solved, or so I thought.
Less than an hour later the mailman rings the doorbell… hmmm…. what does he want? ahhh.. a signature… hmmm… what could this be? Oh this is just great… I have been summoned for jury duty! First time in my life… oh and guess what date I have to appear for jury selection? That’s right! June 14th @ 9am … sheese, what is it with that date? Not to mention that with all that has been going on I get called, for the frst time ever, to jury duty?! Hopefully I can obtain an exemption…I hope, I hope, I hope *fingers crossed*.

personally i would hope you got a woman judge, cos she would totally understand your dilemma of jury duty and getting your hair done with such an important hairdresser.
Of course at this stage you wouldnt have any idea as who would be in the dock. It might be a hairdresser, been arrested for that shocking haircut on the judge.
But in all seriousness, after you made your case in respect to caring for your mother, i’d be really surprised if you still had to take jury duty.
