The Operation

Mom had her operation on Friday as scheduled. It was a long tiring day as we had to be at the hospital for 6:30am and we were up at 4am. The surgeon who performed the operation was in surgery all day Friday and was not on call during the weekend, so I have not been able to speak with him. Hopefully he’ll call once the test results are in or at worse we’ll find out at the follow-up appointment on June 14th.
It was a *very* long and exhausting 3 - 4 days … I brought Mom home on Sunday, she is recovering well so far. She has a Jackson-pratt drain that is working well, which I empty, measure and reset 2 to 3 times a day. The CLSC (community health care center) nurse came to the house this morning to change Mom’s dressing. She seemed very pleased with Mom’s progress
She will come every second day to do the dressing.
As to what treatments will follow depends on what the surgeon found when he operated and whether or not it’s cancerous…. anxious for June 14th…..
